There is one major plus to the controls of the PSP version. I am kind of disappointed by the implementation of the puzzles, as they are all a cheap imitation of using the Wiimote (you use the analog stick to move a cursor). Circle opens your phone, and it's still got every single bit of functionality it had in the Wii version. X opens doors and prompts climbing and crawling, unless you're running (Then you go straight through them), and you can tap x to climb over walls and under spaces faster. You can still zoom in with the right bumper, and you have control of your flashlight there, but no movement. The flashlight is confined to pointing wherever you're facing, but it has a wider radius to make up for it. Instead, you turn Harry by pressing left or right on the nub. You cannot strafe in the PSP version, but it does tend to make the chase scenes more intense and claustrophobic. There are plenty of other PSP exclusive games that are a great excuse to buy one though I generally have more fun with my PSP than my X-Box 360. I wouldn't get a PSP just for Shattered Memories.
If you think they are not block like then fine however they do not compare to the ps2 version of the modelsĮven though you are limited to one analog stick, the controls are actually pretty spot-on. Note both were viewed on the same type of tvĪs for the models being blocky i was referring simply to SM on the psp
If you don't believe me view your psp on a normal tv say maybe a hd one and you will now what i mean. For instance the less detailed textures being the most prominent atrocity among others. If it was exactly the same as the psp version then you would have noticed alot of the nice little touches.
Now would you have rather it been the psp version with better controls. Also it takes alot of power for the ps2 to run the game without load screens.įurther more since the game is viewed much larger more attention has to go into the models and the textures and such. When playing it on a small a screen as the psp the models dont have to be as complex.įurther more the character models are not as detailed which is something that they can get away with on a hand held console.Īs for the ps2 version the charectors models are much more detailed as are the shadows. I tried to state as to why the psp might be better in some aspects and the ps2 better in other aspects however no on was doing much listening to me. i own voth versionsĪnd as for saying that the psp looks better is nothing short of odd. However you guys seem to think that the psp is better. I have taken into consideration the facts that all of you have presented I have compared both versions on tv's side by side and this is my outcome
